… For now.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - virtual classes are my favorite to teach. It is such a joy to watch students create feasts in their own kitchens and marvel at the fact that they did it all by themselves. It’s bittersweet to give these up, but at this point it’s too difficult to manage with two little kids underfoot (sometimes quite literally). I’d love to host again in the future, but we’ll see what the future holds.
I will still do private classes, so please reach out if you’d like to set something up. If you are in the Twin Cities, come find me teaching in person at Cooks of Crocus Hill.
Thanks to all my students who joined me over the years and supported me socially and financially during the pandemic. 2020 would have been so much rougher without you. Special thanks to those who continued to support me after my move from Seattle to Minneapolis, who booked private classes with me, and who I could count on to take up a seat in every new class I offered (lookin at you - Shawn). You’ve enriched my life with your enthusiasm and I can only hope I inspired some delicious meals around your table.
This is just a goodbye for now.
xoxo

“It was so amazing, inspiring and also made me feel really positive about food, which I’m generally not. I loved how everyone was so proud of their sushi roll!”
- Janna A.
“I have not been in this good a mood in a long time. (We) woke up renewed and so excited to have our leftovers. I really love how you made everyone feel so welcome and empowered!!”
- Michael S.
“The pace of the class was perfect. I liked that I could ignore the other cooks and totally get into my cooking. I really enjoyed your reflections on the importance of rice and your interjections about the Japanese culture. Those comments seemed genuine and made the experience even more meaningful.”
